State Police have made an arrest in the fatal hit and run of skateboarder in Hammond.
Troopers stated Vincent Young, 37, of Natalbany was taken into custody and charged felony hit and run, driving under suspension and no license plate. He is alleged to be involved in the fatal hit and run that killed Erin Gerhard, 26, of Independence.
Gerhard was hit by two vehicles on University Avenue, west of US 51, on May 11. He died at the scene.
Young was booked into the Amite Jail on Wednesday.
The investigation is on-going and Troopers are still seeking information pertaining to a light colored truck which may have been involved in the crash. Anyone with any additional information should contact Louisiana State Police Troop L at 985-893-6250.
