One person was arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for allegedly possessing a large amount of drugs and money.
On Monday, authorities took into custody Kade M. Soprano, 34, of Centerville, Louisiana, on multiple charges:
– Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
– Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
– Possession of MDMA with intent to distribute
– Possession of Schedule II (Lortab) with intent to distribute
– Possession of Schedule II (Xanax) with intent to distribute
– Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
– Transactions involving drug proceeds
Deputies were responding to a complaint of the illegal discharge of a firearm at a home in Centerville when the arrest was made.
While investigating the complaint, a deputy saw a man leave the back of a mobile home and hide an object beneath the home. Deputies found a small ice chest and smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the container. Inside the ice chest, deputies located large bags of marijuana and a bag of cocaine.
Deputies notified detectives who continued the investigation into illegal drug activity at the location. Detectives obtained a warrant to search the home and found more marijuana, MDMA pills, Lortab pills, Xanax pills, 2 handguns and $4,935 in cash.
The estimated street value of the illegal drugs is about $20,000.
Soprano was booked in to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. His bail is set at $250,000.
