A fatal crash occurred Thursday morning in the 4700 block of Plank Road around 10:30 a.m.
The at-scene investigation revealed that Elwyn Pate, 80, was riding a bicycle northbound in the southbound lanes of Plank Road, when he struck an 18 wheeler which was turning onto Plank Road from Bryon Street. Pate died on scene.
