When it comes to retail shopping, Governor John Bel Edwards’ Phase One reopening plan only allows stores with exterior entrances to let customers inside on Friday, May 15th. That’s why stores at places like Perkins Rowe are gearing up for the big day.
Management at the shopping center say its stores will be opening on a case by case basis. Marketing manager Chelsea Thibodaux says “Some may continue curbside service, while others, will be open.”
Per the governor’s Phase One guidelines, the stores that are opening will be limiting traffic in their stores to 25 % capacity. They’ll be wearing masks and making sure everything is clean and sanitized. And in some cases, that includes the clothes you may want to try on while you’re shopping.
“So, we have our fitting rooms open,” Altar’d State manager Amy Lowe said today. “And after and before each guest, we’re going in, cleaning everything they’re touching. And before the clothes even go back on the floor, we’re making sure that they’re steamed and sanitized. That way we can just keep everyone safe.”
Of course, if you’ll be headed out Friday and thereafter, keep in mind, the Governor’s order requires there be fewer people in the stores, which means, you may have to wait to get into some of your favorites. So remember, be patient
