BATON ROUGE, LA- Due to severe weather threats, the following school districts have issued closures:
- LSU: Classes canceled starting at noon Tuesday due to severe weather threat.
- LSU Lab School: Closed due to severe weather threat
- BRCC: Classes canceled starting at 10:30 AM Tuesday
- Southern University: Classes canceled starting at noon Tuesday
- East Baton Rouge Parish: Classes canceled, offices closed Tuesday
- EBR Head Start: Classes canceled due to severe weather threat.
- Dunham School: Closed due to severe weather threat.
- West Baton Rouge Parish: Schools will be closed due to severe weather threat.
- East Feliciana Parish: Schools will be closed due to severe weather threat.
- West Feliciana Parish: Schools will be closed due to severe weather threat.
- Zachary Community School District: All schools and offices closed due to severe weather threat.
- Central Community School District: All schools and offices closed due to severe weather threat.
- Iberville Parish: All schools EXCEPT Iberville Charter Academy are closed due to severe weather threat.
- Baker Schools: All schools closed due to severe weather threat.
- Livingston Parish Schools: All schools closed due to severe weather threat.
- Episcopal School of Baton Rouge: Closed due to severe weather threat.
- Catholic Schools: Iberville, WBR, St. James, Point Coupee, and Central are all closed due to severe weather threats.
- Democracy Prep: Closed Tuesday due to severe weather threat.
- Louisiana Key Academy: Closed due to severe weather threat.
- Our Lady of the Lake College: Classes canceled beginning at noon due to severe weather. College offices to remain open
- St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools: Scheduled for early release due to severe weather.
- Parkview Baptist: Classes canceled due to severe weather threat.
- CSAL/Madison Prepatory Academy: Due to the threat of severe weather, public schools in East Baton Rouge Parish are dismissed Tuesday, February 23, 2016, which means there is no school at CSAL Middle Charter or Madison Prep. Be safe, stay dry & enjoy the day off, but be prepared to report back to work on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.
- All New Orleans and surrounding parish schools are closed today.
- Remington College closed
Also many state businesses are shutting down early due to the severe weather including:
- Ascension Parish Government has allowed all non-essential personnel to go home at 11:00 am. Emergency preparedness, public works and drainage personnel are on duty and monitoring the weather situation in real time.
- Baton Rouge City-Parish employees were dismissed today at 11:30.
- East Baton Rouge Parish Libraries closed their doors at noon.
- St. John the Baptist Parish all Government offices closed at noon today.
- St. James Parish all Government offices closed at noon today.
- All Louisiana Workforce Commission offices are closed for the remainder of the day.
- City of Gonzales PD and FD will be administrative offices are closed.
- NOPD District Comstat meetings canceled
