The Southern University Ag Center’s 76th Annual Livestock and Poultry Show has kicked off at the Maurice A. Edmond Livestock Arena.
Around 100 young farmers from across Louisiana hope their animals will come home as the champion this year.
This annual event runs from Thursday, February 28th to Saturday, March 2nd.
Officials are encouraging local schools to come visit the show on Friday to participate in a special tour that will include a small petting zoo.
You can also purchase meat and donate to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank while you are there.
