Bike Lane Battle Continues

Local News

NOW PLAYING

The battle over the bike lanes on Glenmore and Hundred Oaks avenues is still raging.

Home owners want to park in front of their homes and bicyclists say they are blocking the bike path.

The dispute led to cars being towed and heated arguments in this quiet neighborhood.

East Baton Rouge Council Member, C. Denise Marcelle is now looking for the people in this dispute to come together to solve the problem.

She has formed a committee made up of bicyclists, home owners a people from surrounding neighborhoods to come together to solve the problem.

Some of the ideas on the table are to allow parking on the street at night or put in another travel lane.

Until this committee has found a solution to the bike lane controversy, Council Member Marcelle has asked that cyclists not call the police when the lane is blocked.
