StormTracker Team…Our hazy sky over the Capital City area has a Saharan connection. This haze is actually dust from the Sahara Desert in Africa, some 6,800 miles away. If you have allergies, caution is advised for outdoor activities into the weekend.

This dust is having a positive impact in the Atlantic Ocean & Gulf of Mexico when it comes to tropical storms and hurricanes. Tropical waves are having a difficult time developing due to the dust cutting off lift.
