BATON ROUGE, La. – Southern women hosted Prairie View A&M to end their regular season, and the Lady Jags offense was dominant for much of the game.
After going down early 9-5, Southern began to pull away from the Panthers, leading by as much as 21 points in the third quarter. The Lady Jags shot 50% and 61.54% from the field in the second and third quarters respectively.
Southern’s offense fell off a bit in the fourth quarter, going 5-12 from the field in the period, and Prairie View A&M did pull within single digits midway through the second half. However, the Lady Jags did enough and pulled away with a 63-51 victory.
Southern finished the regular season as number three in the SWAC with a 13-5 conference record.
