Chancellor of SU Law Center to hold lecture on faith, social justice and civil rights

Southern University Law Center Chancellor John Pierre will hold a lecture on “Faith, Social Justice and the Louisiana Civil Rights Movement.”

It will take place Tuesday, February 26th at St. Aloysius Parish Hall, 2025 Stuart Ave., at 7:00 P.M. in Baton Rouge. 

According to a news release, Pierre said his lecture “will focus on how faith has motivated individuals to action to pursue equality for descendants of former African slaves in the United States, with a special focus on Louisiana and a particular focus on Baton Rouge.” 

This special presentation is sponsored by the Diocese of Baton Rouge’s Racial Harmony Commission and the Social Responsibility Commission of St. Aloysius Parish.
