ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) – 84 degrees, that’s how hot it was outside Sunday. There’s no telling how hot it was inside the vehicle parked at Pensacola Beach with a beagle trapped inside. Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies rushed to rescue the beagle from a Ford SUV. They found the dog panting heavily with her tongue hanging out of her mouth. The windows were cracked but that was not enough to keep the beagle cool. Deputies say they couldn’t find the owner, 29-year-old Herman McIntire, so they had to rescue the dog from the SUV.

When McIintire came to find out what happened to his dog, deputies arrested him on the scene. The charge listed is conservation of animals.  The beagle is now with animal control.
