A Watson man is dead and a Denham Springs woman is in jail after a fatal crash in Livingston Parish.
Louisiana State Police say it happened on LA Highway 16 just north of LA Highway 1019 around 5:30 Saturday morning.
Troopers say 36-year-old Ashley Covington was driving a truck, while 43-year-old Brian Broom was driving a car down Highway 16 in the opposite direction, when Covington’s truck switched lanes and ended up hitting Broom’s car head on.
Troopers suspect Covington was on drugs at the time. She is currently booked into the Livingston Parish Jail for Vehicular Homicide.
