Ahead of possible floods, local parishes offer sandbags

BATON ROUGE, LA- Emergency officials in Louisiana’s Florida Parishes are taking the extra step to prepare for possible heavy rains and flooding this week.

Ascension Parish President Kenny Matassa says parish drainage, public works, and emergency management departments are ready and monitoring weather forecasts for the immediate area.  Ascension is also providing pre-filled sandbags at various locations:
