A U.S. Army veteran, who spent 20 years in the military from Germany to Afghanistan, needed a little help. That’s when one local company stepped up to the plate in a big way.

Christopher Primes underwent 31 surgeries on his right leg after falling down a mountain during combat in Afghanistan. Doctors eventually amputated his leg above the knee. He was also diagnosed with bone cancer last year.

It was sign of hope when he received a $13,000 electric wheelchair from WasteWater Treatment Systems & Operations.

“This chair is going to mean to me just to be able to get out of my house, to move around my yard and to move around my neighborhood and to be able to go with my grandson,” Primes said.

He said it’s a Christmas miracle, and he’s looking forward to hunting and fishing once again.
