The Baton Rouge community gathered Monday night to remember the heroes their community lost Sunday morning in a senseless tragedy.
Hundreds gathered to mourn the loss of three men who will forever impact Baton Rouge.
One of the community members who came to St. Thomas Moore Church to pray for healing was Anne Roshto.
“It just breaks my heart to what our city’s come to and what our county has come to,” Roshto said filled with emotion.
Roshto, who considers herself deeply religious, said all it takes is a sincere smile from the heart to change relations between people.
“If you love your city, you want it to be unified,” Roshto said.
Jacques Pourciau, director of liturgy, said he understand the community is heartbroken. The Columbus of Knights organization is working toward a week long prayer vigil.
“We also realize it’s a first step to preparing ourselves for significant dialogue and that’s what’s going to need to happen in our community to create some healing,” Pourciau said.
