Coast Guard medevacs man with appendicitis-like symptoms aboard a tank ship Saturday morning.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans Watchstanders received the report around 3:00 A.M. Weather conditions delayed the medevac, and a helicopter crew was launched at 11:30 A.M.to provide assistance.
The crew arrived around noon, got the man out of the ship and transported him to University Hospital. He was in stable condition.
