Police reports state a 8-year-old boy murdered his little sister, 1-year-old Kelci Lewis.
Investigators believe the mother, Katerra Lewis, was at a nightclub with a friend at the time of the incident. Allegations have been made that Lewis was reckless and negligent.
Birmingham Police Lt. Sean Edwards says it was appropriate for Lewis to be charged with manslaughter.
