Around 4:30 Sunday morning, an off-duty Louisiana State Trooper shot a burglar who was robbing his unmarked police car.
It happened in Ascension Parish. We’re told the trooper chased down the man, and they got into a struggle.
The burglar tried to pull a gun on the trooper, who pulled out his own and shot the man in the stomach. He was hospitalized, and an investigation is underway.
