Members of the 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge organization gave back to those in need.
They came together under the North Boulevard overpass. Around 40 mentors and their mentees handed out clothes, bags of toiletries and food.
The president of the organization, Michael Victorian, said it is their mission to try to instill in the mentees that since they are blessed, it is only right to be a blessing to others.
“One of the things we work with these young men on is giving something back to the community. We feel that it is an obligation, not only for us to give something back, but also to teach and inspire these young men to give something back to the community, so that when they are adults, they’ll be able to serve and help other people who are less fortunate than they are,” said Victorian
The 100 Black Men partnered with Dow Jones to hand out enough supplies to more than 300 people in need.
