When you are out shopping the YMCA says there is always a better, healthier option to purchase.
YMCA Marketing Director Kristen Hogan said there are number of low calorie, low sugar alternatives to choose from when buying groceries.
Hogan suggested the following swaps:
Orange Juice- Swap regular OJ for lower calorie OJ like Trop 50
Jello- Swap regular Jello for low sugar or sugar free Jello
Tea- Swap regular/sweet tea for low sugar or diet tea
Canned tuna- Swap tuna in oil for tuna in water
Mayonnaise- Swap mayo for mustard
Butter- Swap regular butter for spray butter
Candy Bars- Swap candy bars for protein or granola bars
