Man arrested after Baton Rouge apartment arson

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRProud) – Baton Rouge Fire investigators on Tuesday booked a man on one count of aggravated arson because they suspect he started a fire at an apartment on Menlo Drive in early March.

Quantae Gray, 20, is accused of intentionally starting the fire that caused $25,000 in damages to two units and a nearby parked vehicle, according to Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Robert Combs.

There were nine occupants in the building when the fire broke out, and all of them escaped safely, Combs wrote.
