Cursive is one step closer to becoming a part of the curriculum at Ohio schools.
On Friday the Ohio House passed House Bill 58, which requires the state Department of Education to create a new curriculum by the end of this year.
House Bill 58 would require each student be able to print letters legibly by the end of 3rd grade and write in cursive by the end of 5th grade.
The course would be aimed at children in kindergarten through 5th grade.
The bill now heads to the Senate for a final vote.
