Five months ago, protests rocked the city and the nation, five months of calling for justice for Alton Sterling. Now, Saturday December 10th, on World Human Rights Day, demonstrations will continue with the Quest for Justice Rally right where the fatal altercation happened, the Triple S Food Mart.

“So, we want to continue pushing, and I think that that push really helps because the court of public opinion means a lot and can weigh in these cases in a lot of instances,” said Gregg L. Greer, the lead activist.

Greet is working with Sterling’s aunt, the United Nations and different community organizations with one goal in mind.

“We feel like that opportune moment to call out the injustice and to really ask for justice for Alton,” said Greer. “Justice for Alton is primary, and we believe that there is a level of, not just national, but international attention is what we can bring to this case.”

The Department of Justice still has not been vocal about when it will make a decision in this case.
