Celtic studios was one of the first to open their doors as a shelter for evacuees after thousands were forced from their homes due to floods.
Things are significantly slowing down.
The last of the evacuees who where staying at Celtic, moved out on Thursday.
The Executive Director of Celtic Studios, Patrick Mulhearn, it was a rough couple of weeks for the staff here, but it was something they were ready for.
He said, “We made it clear to have local and state officials that we were indeed empty and if the chips were down and they needed us, we were in option”.
At one point, Patrick says they had close to 4000 evacuees on the property.
Even at it’s most hectic, the team at Celtic knew they could pull this off.
They had actually done it once before.
Mulhearn said, “We actually held about 500 volunteers from around the country in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac. They were here to help clean up and help people to get back on their feet”.
I number of Louisiana National Guardsmen have stayed back to help get Celtic back to normal.
Patrick says that they are getting calls from productions wanting to come to Celtic to film.
It’s a wrap on Celtic as a shelter, but hopefully we will see lights, cameras and action coming from the studio soon.
