The New Orleans Saints have added another versatile weapon to their offense and signed running back Ty Montgomery. The team also waived tight end Mitchell Loewen.
Montgomery came into the NFL as a wide receiver, but the former Stanford Cardinal became a running back in 2016 with the Green Bay Packers. In 58 career games, Montgomery totaled 225 carries for 1,035 yards and seven touchdowns; he also has 120 career receptions for 982 yards and three touchdowns.
In 2019, the former New York Jet played all 16 games but only started two games. Montgomery had 15 rushes for 83 yards and 13 catches for 90 yards in New York.
