Detectives with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office have made a second arrest in the deadly shooting of a 74-year-old woman.
EBRSO said, “the 16-year-old brother of the other suspect is charged with Principal to Armed Robbery and Principal to First Degree Murder.”

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA/WGMB) –
Overnight the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Detectives responded to a shooting in the 16000 block of Morel Drive.
When they arrived, they found that 74-year-old woman Angela Haymon had been shot and killed under her carport by a 15-year-old male intruder.
According to reports, Haymon went outside to investigate after hearing a noise under her carport.
A short time later her husband heard gunfire outside. He armed himself with a gun and exited. He was confronted with the armed intruder and exchanged gunfire, striking the suspect.
The 15-year-old suspect fled and sought help from a nearby residence. He was transported for treatment.
Upon his release the suspect will be charged with the following:
- First Degree Murder
- Attempted First Degree Murder
- Attempted Armed Robbery
- Illegal Use of a Weapon
