A slow moving cold front in combination with some deep tropical moisture will lead to the risk of flash flooding for portions of south Louisiana. Right now, Invest 97L has a high (70%) chance for development over the next 48 hours. This system could even become a short-lived tropical depression before being absorbed by that incoming cold front. Regardless of tropical formation, system will bring heavy rain to the northern Gulf. The disturbance will be inland by Saturday.
