Saturday Evening: Tropical air mass brings heavy rainfall to southeast Louisiana

Weather Forecasts

NOW PLAYING

Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies with a few lingering showers overnight. Lows near 72° with calm winds.

Tomorrow: Overcast skies with showers and storms likely throughout the day. Some locations may see 2-4 inches of rainfall so the threat for localized flash flooding continues. Highs near 81° with winds out of the south at 5 mph.

Extended: A tropical air mass will bring heavy rainfall to portions of southeast Louisiana Sunday with locations south of the I-10/12 corridor seeing 2-4 inches and north of I-10/12 seeing 1-3 inches. As these tropical rain bands move inland, our flooding threat will remain elevated with a slight risk for excessive rainfall Sunday. Rain stays in our forecast Monday before we lower our rain chances Tuesday and Wednesday. Starting Thursday and lasting through next weekend, we’ll dry out with highs in the low 90’s, mostly sunny skies and only a 20% rain chance.
